Provide oversight and ensure implementation of the defined quality assurance requirements described in the CNS Quality Assurance Program Description. Develop and maintain consistency in the application of CNS quality requirements and ensure requirements and performance efforts are in accordance with contractual quality requirements (NQA-1, NAP-401.1, DOE O 414.1D). Individual may be directly involved in providing input on procedures, or procurement, project, and maintenance processes. The following are specific tasks that this position may be asked to perform:
• Develop into a Quality subject matter expert in one or more elements of the CNS Quality Assurance Program Description
• Responsible for the development and implementation of various quality programs including procedures, training, and metrics
• Represent Quality on the Issues Management Board
• Assist program managers with interpretation and implementation of quality requirements
• Perform assessment/surveillance activities to evaluate compliance to NQA-1 requirements
• Qualify to provide support to other areas in the Quality Projects and Programs organization such as, Facility Quality, Projects Quality, Software Quality, and Supplier Quality
• Perform quality reviews at various steps in the procurement process.
• Coordinate procedure reviews for the Quality organization
• Make technical decisions on the applicability of quality requirements
• Bachelor’s degree OR Master’s degree. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.
• OR Ten or more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive relevant experience will be reviewed and considered for equivalency to these requirements.
• In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., 1 year job-related experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2)
If a range of Career Levels is posted, i.e., Senior Associate to Senior Specialist, internal applicants already in one of the Career Levels would come across at their current Career Level. Internal applicants currently in a lower level Career Level would move to the lowest posted Career Level.
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
