Job Description

Candidate will be working in the Quality Lab responsible for testing different products. Testing will consist of pH testing, viscosity testing, density, percentage solids, and weighing samples.

Responsibilities

Collect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established proceduresMonitor processes to ensure they are operating correctly and consistentlyDocument all results neatly and preciselyLabel and maintain product retention samples used to monitor the product throughout the established shelf lifeOrganize collected data for management reviewMaintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashionCommunicate non-compliant results immediately to managementMonitor plant for compliance to GMPsAccurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasoningsTest R&D samples for food safety and specification developmentConduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager

Additional Skills & Qualifications

AS or BS in a science-related field or one year of wet chemistry lab experience if non-degreed

Work Environment

The candidate needs to be comfortable with the lab being loud and having strong food smells. The culture of the lab is very team-oriented with a family feel. The lab is small, and the candidate will be working alongside a few other technicians and reporting to the supervisor. The dress code for the lab is casual; most people wear a t-shirt and jeans. A lab coat will be issued once hired on. No jewelry, watches, false eyelashes, fingernail polish, plastic bobby pins, or similar

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
