Job Description
Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards in food safety and quality? As a Quality Control Technician I, you'll play a crucial role in our laboratory, implementing and recording various testing methodologies. You'll also monitor plant cleaning activities by conducting regular swabbing of production equipment. Your work will ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of our laboratory operations, as well as the timely release of test results.
Responsibilities:
+ Innovate and Implement: Set up and manage new software (SAGE) to streamline lab operations.
+ Analyze and Test: Perform analytical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using advanced equipment like FTIR, densitometers, refractometers, flash point testers, and pH meters.
+ Organize and Catalog: Log samples into the database, organize the retain library, and file sample folders meticulously.
+ Compare and Taste: Compare test results with specifications, conduct taste tests, and perform daily calibration checks of lab equipment.
+ Collaborate and Report: Assist OH R&D with tasting panels, create expired material reports, and report food safety issues promptly.
+ Develop and Evaluate: Develop new procedures based on trends and analyses, and conduct shelf-life evaluations for finished products and raw materials.
+ Maintain and Clean: Ensure lab equipment and glassware are clean and ready for use.
+ Document and Transfer: Retrieve and send documents related to internal transfers efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Chemical or Food Science preferred OR one year of related experience and/or training.
+ Experience: Proven experience in troubleshooting and calibrations of technical lab equipment.
+ Field of Study: Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or related Science.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
