Standard Duties:
Serve as technical resource for lab staff and internal customers and lead the development of new CMM programs and measurement practices for new lab equipment.Expert CMM programmer skills with ability to develop and write CMM programs using multiple software & applications for PPAP, FPPA, Engineering Projects, etc.Create CMM programs for all new parts and update old programs as new requirements are identifiedMaintain, troubleshoot, and validate CMM equipment for the Seneca Plant.Serve as troubleshooting resource for all plant CMM and advanced measurement equipmentCoordination of needed CMM repair and support from outside vendors, and coordinate calibration of CMM equipment. Ensure all CMM machines are calibrated, and all tips and tools are calibrated at designated frequency and machine certification is up to dateAssist Quality Engineers, Supervisor and Quality Manager in the continuous improvement of the CMM support service.Work with Engineering on special projects related to tooling fixtures and gauges while ensuring all set-ups and programs are accurate.Leads activities to integrate new measurement equipment into normal lab operations.Supports creation of work instructions for new and existing measurement equipmentServe as trainer and support cross-training of lab staff for CMM operation.Support GR&R and MSA activities as required.Maintain all quality standards and adhere to current quality control policies, leading lab compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.Lead 5S activities required for maintaining a World Class Metrology LabUnderstand and adhere to current health, safety and environmental policiesAssist others to understand and adhere to current quality and control policies.Perform all lab processes such as daily dimensional verifications.Reviews blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria following best practices. Mastery of GD&T and blueprint reading; ASME Y 14.5Applies advanced knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles to program CMM’s/vision systems to ensure products meet specifications and drawingsPerform layouts and create bubble prints using High QA softwareOperate technical inspection equipment such as CMM, Gleason Gear Analyzer, Vision Machine, CMM, Contour Tracer, Surface Analyzer, Roundness Tester, Optical Contour, etc. Use handheld gauges (i.e. micrometers, calipers, etc.)Support all Lab processes such as PPAP, dimensional verifications, new product launch, receiving inspection and non-conforming material investigations.Other duties as assigned by Quality Lab LeadershipSafety, Health and Physical Requirements:
Stand for extended periods of time. Education:
High School diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with the LWO (Lab Work Order System); Excel Spreadsheets and Word software, electronic communication such as Outlook and Teams. Prefer prior experience with advanced measurement software; examples include PC-DMIS, Measure Max, CMM Manager, Calypso, Polyworks, Bruker, and High-QA.
