Quality Laboratory Lead

TITLE:                   Quality Laboratory Lead

LOCATION:          Belcamp, MD - Manufacturing Location

As a Quality Laboratory Lead, you will be responsible for quality laboratory and data management, ensuring products meet all internal, customer, and food safety requirements before product release.

Your role will be:

Responsible for managing and reporting KPI metrics for the Belcamp Quality laboratory to the organization.Managing the activities of the quality laboratory and providing leadership to laboratory staff, including training, guidance, development, and coaching.Oversees the positive release program ensuring that product requirements for food safety and quality are met before the release of the product, including internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.Management and negotiation of customer-specific requirements including testing and sampling specifications, methodologies, etc.Point of contact for customer quality testing inquiries.Responsible for quality control about scheduling and order fulfillment activities (such as work order approval, testing, and release).Partners with cross-functional teams and uses quality and statistical tools to drive continuous improvement.Coordinate all laboratory investigations of product nonconformances, customer complaints, and internal nonconformances are performed in a timely and efficient manner.Ensures Good Laboratory Practices are maintained, including equipment calibration.Performs other duties as assigned

Your profile needs these qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, or related field. Minimum of 5 years experience working in a laboratory in an FDA-regulated industry. ISO 17025 experience desiredMinimum 3 years in a people management roleExperience applying continuous improvement processes.HACCP experience and certification required, PCQI preferred.SAP experience preferredDesire to work in a fast-paced, team environmentAnalytical, organized, and detailed orientedStrong communication and math skills

You’ll need these skills to be successful:

Experience in troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and prepare concisely written reports. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, build consensus, and foster relationships at multiple organizational levels and across different organizational functions. Is self-directed and demonstrates a high level of initiative.Demonstrated degree of sound judgment, resourcefulness, and innovation in handling complex technical assignments, with minimal supervision.
