Quality Manager
Job Description: Quality Manager

The Quality Manager, or Director depending on experience, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Quality organization, which supports both Operations (Product Quality) and Materials (Supplier Quality). This role involves leading a diverse team of hourly and salaried team members to ensure the highest standards of quality are met across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide leadership and direction to all levels of the Quality organization.

2. Maintain and ensure a healthy Quality Management System, lead management reviews and internal and external audit processes.

3. Participate in executive staff activities and champion Quality initiatives.

4. Develop and manage organizational policies, department guidelines, inspection plans, and processes to ensure the achievement of Quality targets.

5. Lead implementation of site-wide projects and processes to drive overall quality and continuous improvement.

6. Represent the company and interface with Customer Program IPTs and on-site Quality Assurance Representatives.

7. Oversee quality improvement processes, including tracking and reducing escapes and Cost of Poor Quality, and managing internal and Customer Corrective Action Request systems.

8. Oversee quality processes for collection, tracking, and analyzing quality data from multiple sources.

9. Manage supplier quality performance including selection, evaluation, and auditing, and driving supplier quality improvement initiatives.

10. Directly oversee the management of Supplier Quality, Receiving Inspection, Quality Engineering, In-Process Inspection, Reject Verification, and Quality Technician teams.

Schedule:

7am-5pm normal workday with an hour lunch.

Four nine-hour days and then Friday is 8 hours. 7am-4pm every Friday you do work.

Have off every other Friday.

Could do more flexible hours within an hour each way as long as you’re consistent.

Travel:

Travel is rare but does happen. If there is a supplier issue or if the product line assigned to the QE is tested at another facility. The most travel done would be for offsite testing and it would be a week every 2-4 months.

Team:

5-6 QE’s (they manage the internal first article work and manage the supplier quality work)
