The Hicksville, NY facility is in need of a Quality Manager responsible for supporting the QA Operations in providing leadership in the areas of quality control, quality systems implementation and maintenance.


How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Facilitate development, implementation and compliance of Quality Systems; including review of plant wide SOP’s.Facilitate customer audits.Participate in and/or perform customer audits, supplier audits and internal audits and communicate audit findings.Provide development and training of management in quality system and quality improvement tools.Participate as a member of quality teams.Facilitate and participate in quality meetings (i.e., customer walkabouts, ALC, etc.). Document, investigate, follow-up and maintain all internal complaints.Implement corrective actions for internal non-conformance, supplier non-conformance and specific customer complaints.Provide supervision to others through motivation, direction, review or feedback of assigned tasks related to quality systems and tools.Provide technical assistance to production departments.Direct the product/process corrective action process.Track, analyze and lead initiatives for all internal quality and customer complaint issues in production. Locate, evaluate, purchase and implement technology to promote continuous control over product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.Act as Site Product Stewardship Coordinator, ensuring that our finished products meet the regulatory and customer expectations related to the health, safety and environmental impact of their use and disposal. Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production.Work closely with production management to maximize product quality and reliability and to minimize cost.Plan, promote and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.Follow Quality Management Systems procedures and documentation.


What you need to succeed:

Associates degree in a Quality or Operations related field or equivalent related work experience required.  Minimum of 2 years of Quality experience.   Printing industry experience preferred.Supervisory experience is preferred.Time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.Proficient with MS Office and related software.Ability to perform well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Proven record of fostering teamwork.Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 preferred.Knowledge of Pharmaceutical cGMPs preferredExcellent organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills.Must have strong communication skills.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Able to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.Able to write routine reports and business correspondences.Able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.

The salary range for this position is $73,875.00 - $123,125.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
