Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties:
A Whiting-Turner Quality Manager's role is to provide support and oversight of project teams implementing the Whiting-Turner Quality Management Plan (QMP) on each of our projects. The Quality Manager must have a self-driven and motivated personality and must understand how quality management functions integrate with project planning, procurement and construction activities. The role requires working together with project managers, superintendents, and engineers to form an effective approach to quality management on behalf of our clients. A more detailed list of responsibilities and duties include the following:
* Perform regular job site inspections to identify, document and recommend mitigation of potentially quality control conditions and verify corrective actions have been completed.
* Assist project teams in developing and executing project-specific QMPs prior to and during construction.
* Support project teams in executing the work in strict compliance with the contract documents.
* Review contract documents and other project documents for constructability and accuracy. Help train project teams to do the same.
* Understand, critically analyze, and extract critical quality elements from construction documents, submittals, etc. in support of developing QMPs.
* Collaborate with project teams to establish roles and responsibilities for scheduling inspections, managing the inspection process, and participating in and leading inspection walks.
* Participate in and lead portions of quality-related project meetings including, but not limited to, pre-installation meetings, preconstruction meetings, kick-off meetings, mock-up review meetings, first-work inspections, subcontractor weekly syncs, specification reviews, owner progress meetings and others as deemed necessary to provide support and oversight of the QMP and the quality health of the project.
* Lead by example with quality planning and inspection of work in place, support the managing, documenting, and tracking of conformances and non-conformances.
* Interface with architect, engineers, and owner representatives along with project teams to ensure understanding of and compliance with quality requirements and expectations.
* Review the effectiveness of project teams at implementing and executing each quality management plan and be able to communicate with project teams and regional leadership on the quality health of projects and offer suggestions for improvement.
PAY RATE BETWEEN 50-70/hr

Skills and Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management with 5+ years' experience in the Quality Control position for construction projects
or
* 10+ years construction quality management experience acting as a Quality Manager
* Certified Quality Manager (CQM) certified
* Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) certified
* Experience working in large scale construction projects ($10M+ in budget)
* Experience working on an airport construction job null
