Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Quality Manager/Director with a strong understanding of polymer science, particularly PET and rPET. This role involves overseeing quality control operations across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring product quality compliance, managing testing procedures, and leading a growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with analytical testing, statistical methods, and a collaborative leadership style.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and ensure the proper functioning of equipment, including GC, GCFIDER, and other chromatographic methods. Oversee analytical testing such as acetyl aldehyde and benzene testing (PPM/PPB), molecular weight analysis, and physical testing (LMI, MFR). Analyze GC data, trend tracking, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Lead quality initiatives across sites, supporting FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO 9001/14001, and other industry standards. Facilitate auditing processes, support ongoing quality improvement projects, and track data for continuous improvement. Provide leadership in quality-related matters, helping to scale operations as the company grows from 60M to 700M pounds. Work with OEMs to ensure equipment procurement and calibration are on schedule. Travel approximately 25% to various sites (Hatfield, Ocala, AZ, Dallas, and others as the company expands). Qualifications: BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with PET, rPET, and polymer science, including intrinsic viscosity and polymer chain analysis. Strong understanding of GMP, quality control processes, and analytical testing methods. Proficiency in statistical analysis (CPK, PPK) and trend tracking. Leadership qualities with a focus on empathy, team collaboration, and effective communication. Experience in quality management systems (FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO 9001/14001). Ability to lead a team of 3-5 quality professionals across multiple sites. Desirable Experience: Familiarity with Perkin Elmer Head Space GC, with a willingness to transition to Agilent systems. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards in manufacturing environments. Prior experience in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment is a plus. #M3
