Job Description

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems for the company and its supply chain. This may include auditing to ensure compliance, although this may be carried out by a third-party accredited body. The Quality Manager will develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with required industry standards (including ISO 9001), accreditation requirements, and business needs. This role involves regulating, controlling, and improving the quality of all processes and the final product. Additionally, the Quality Manager will manage the audit program to ensure all nonconformities raised during audits are effectively corrected and independently verified. The aim is to embed a culture of continuous improvement and lead the team to achieve quality management system targets for customers and business goals.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop the Management Systems strategy and the management arrangements for key milestones, demonstrating solid progress against plan.Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO9001).Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, and review and communicate the impact on Quality Management Systems.Manage all external registration requirements and liaise with external bodies on all matters related to registration.Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System.Ensure in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified to meet external certification bodies' needs.Ensure all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy customer requirements and audits.Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures.Undertake regular internal and process audits of the QMS.Ensure corrective actions are undertaken to address nonconformities found.Verify the closure of nonconformities with Certification Bodies.Hold regular audit performance meetings with Certification Bodies.Manage the audit nonconformity database and provide detailed analysis of nonconformities.Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and set objectives for departments; ensure KPIs are met.Report on the achievement of targets and identify any required actions.Consistently promote high standards through personal example and ensure team members understand the expected standards and behaviors.Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally, regarding Quality matters.Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.Anticipate and overcome obstacles, making useful links to arrive at insightful plans and solutions.Embrace personal challenges and take ownership of team cohesion and development.Follow the Group Code of Conduct and Group Compliance Policy along with other applicable company policies.Perform other related duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExcellent leadership and management skills.High level of interpersonal skills with a customer/client focus.Flexibility.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.Competence in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision making.Attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED diploma, Bachelor’s degree in related field, or five years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Quality assurance, Quality control, procedure analysis, process improvement, internal audit, Quality engineering, ISO 9001.Experience writing and implementing standards/policies/procedures.Openness to 20% travel to other facilities.Internal Auditing Experience.Customer-facing experience.Manufacturing and union experience.Industry experience.Exposure to managing a union environment.Detailed understanding of ISO 9001.Experience dealing with customers and suppliers.Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical demands include occasionally sitting; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and frequently lifting/moving up to 10 pounds, occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. When in the warehouse, protective eyewear and steel-toed boots are mandatory where indicated by the safety department. This is a full-time position with typical hours of work from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The role requires travel among facilities, up to 20% per year.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
