Made Possible.** **Position Purpose** + Drive standardization of Quality programs across Canada; build a team of Quality professionals. + Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. + Direct the activities of suppliers, production employees, and customers to resolve quality problems and continuously improve the level of quality. + Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regards to the plant’s product safety programs (HACCP, SQF, Food Defense, etc.) and Lean initiatives. **Job Functions** + Build Quality team across Canada, standardize process / team, build and improve upon existing Quality Systems + Develop and maintain closed-loop quality system driven to reduce process variation and ensure plant compliance. + Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other Plant Managers, Department Supervisors, and Quality professionals to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. + Develop and implement product quality plans and procedures by overseeing gauge requirements, frequency, responsibility, and methods to ensure compliance to process and product specifications. + Direct, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure quality control over raw materials and final products. + Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability. + At times, may serve as customer contact for quality issues and/or represent Graphic Packaging at customer locations in conjunction with the Plant Manager and/or Sales Rep. + Respond to, evaluate, and resolve customer complaints. + Track and manage customer feedback regarding quality. + Direct activities, duties, and projects of all Quality team members. + Implement practices and controls to drive an effective supplier management system. + Work with Raw material vendors on material specifications and process/track vendor complaints. + Manage customer specification system. + Oversee trials / new business. Create and communicate trial plans. + Oversees and provides guidance in the areas of plant Functional Control / Pre-Requisite programs including pest control, operational methods, personnel practices, comprehensive Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food defense, and facility maintenance as it relates to product safety, housekeeping, and cleaning practices. + Communicates observations and implements corrective actions that should be taken. + Ensures plant’s compliance to 3rd party Functional Control / Pre-Requisite program requirements including HACCP, SQF, and other customer-mandated programs. + Conducts annual training in HACCP, GMP’s, Food defense, and Allergens. + Evaluates vendor performance. + Provides support in the plant’s Lean and 5S activities. + Seeks out cost reduction opportunities in functional areas of responsibility. + Conduct Product and Process Quality Audits. + Review and report CI/Quality Metrics, Update VOC Board. + Oversee QMS Assessment for local plant. + Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork. **Job Specifications** + Degree or Diploma in Business, or related Quality field; bachelor’s preferred. + 3-5 years’ experience in quality (at Manager, multi-site level), or equivalent experience. + Six Sigma experience a plus. + Power vehicle license preferred. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to lead and direct others – multi-site priorities. + Prior management or supervisory experience is a must. + Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet research skills. + Working knowledge of QMS and the ability to create / improve systems. + Experience in implementation of technical testing in production environments. + General knowledge of printing and converting technologies preferred. + Travel required – 4 locations across Canada + trips required to other sites in the US for training (20-40% of the time) + Current / valid passport and ability to travel domestically on airplane / train domestically and internationally + Ability to work overtime (greater than 40 hours per week) + Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors. **Working Conditions** + General office and manufacturing areas (within multi-site locations in Canada) + Travel to/from airport, hotels, and other meeting areas (may include international travel) **Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
