Siemens Smart Infrastructure Electrical Products North America's Quality Management is seeking a Quality Manager in Project Engineer (QMiP) for its corporate office in Peachtree Corner, Georgia.

The QMiP Engineer will interface directly with project managers and quality and product management to assist in developing new products and resolving potential quality-related issues identified during product design and launch.

In addition, this role will directly interface with the quality group of multiple factories, assisting in new product launches, participating in the control process and product quality planning and testing, resolving product quality-related issues, and working across business segments to help address any quality issues.

This is a senior role in the organization that requires interaction with a range of internal stakeholders, excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and a passion for excellence, integrity, innovation, and success.

You will make impact with the following responsibilities:

Assisting project management in preparing project agreements, setting quality targets, developing quality standards and testing, and comprehensive risk analyses for new product development. Support and consult the project managers to prevent quality issues, ensure customer integration, establish quality standards in the process, and manage suppliers. Oversee the design of complex projects in new product development activities to identify critical quality features and parameters. Provided support to plant quality managers with experience in FMEA, Control Plans, Q-Gates, testing, product trials, and process approvals. Develop an ongoing work program to ensure quality control by developing and implementing quality control tests, performing product inspections at various stages, and writing reports documenting production issues. Identify and implement necessary changes to assure quality control program flexibility for different kinds of projects and drive process improvement. Mentor plant quality resources on problem-solving methodologies and other quality techniques in new product development. Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement and ensure that continuous improvement activities are planned, implemented, and measured. Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources with the obligation to say “no” in critical situations, particularly concerning development, delivery, and acceptance releases. Lead and coordinate the analysis of business processes and procedures to ensure ongoing quality assurance across the organization. Assist plant quality in formulating and implementing quality procedures, standards, and instructions. Ensures we have the right processes, competent execution, and continuous improvement.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. 5 plus years of experience in a similar quality role. Experience leading the Design of Experiments; proficient in quality management systems and tools (e.g., APQP. PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, SPC. Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

An advanced degree is preferred. Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving ability. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation skills, as well as solid communication abilities with effective technical writing skills.

Travel:

15% Travel - both domestically and internationally. International travel experience and the capability to operate in foreign cultures required.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
