Quality & Manufacturing Engineer

Based in our Brenham, Texas location you will be responsible for developing and continuously improving systems and processes to support all Quality Control activities, such as receiving inspection, Material Review Board (MRB), work order execution, gauge calibration program, production, and product approvals.  

As a Quality and Manufacturing Engineer, you will support operations by monitoring key performance indicators, investigating quality issues, conducting Root Cause Analysis, facilitating CAPA, and assisting with ISO9001:2015 compliance. This engineering role will launch assist with the launch of new products, provide engineering support, develop and improve processes, plus work on short or long duration engineering projects. This person will work directly with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Design and/or develop manufacturing processes and techniques and help solve manufacturing problems. Recommend design changes to reduce costs, improve quality and increase product performance. Interacts primarily with Production Control, Quality, Design, EHS, and other engineering functions. Seeks guidance and approval of supervisor or project leader before company resources are committed to customers or vendors. May interact with or lead process improvement team. Develop procedures including process flows and work instructions with focus on safety, quality, efficiency. Oversee capital projects with detailed plans, generally spanning several months, as required for business growth in current markets and in new industries. Assist the Quality Manager in coordinating or performing some of the following functions: Continuous Improvement Quality Management System Development Track and trend internal Non-Conformances.  Develop projects and/or countermeasures to achieve internal defect reduction year over year Lead investigations for customer and product complaint issues Root Cause and Corrective Action initiation and follow-up Conduct training on internal Quality Procedures and Work Instructions  Conduct Internal Audits   Who You Are:   You identify and seize new opportunities and take action on challenges, without unnecessary planning.     For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required  Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided.
  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MMET), Mechanical, or Industrial degrees preferred Basic knowledge of the following manufacturing processes: CNC 3-5 Axis Milling -Vertical and Horizontal, CNC Turning Strong welding background preferred – RSEW, GTAW Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and drawings Proficiency with parametric CAD software, Creo preferred Knowledge of basic quality tools – PFMEA, Value stream mapping, DMAIC, 8D Internship or Co-Op experience highly preferred
