Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager
Overview: The Manager of Quality and Regulatory Affairs will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This includes ensuring product safety for consumers and ensuring that any regulatory claims related to human safety are accurate, tested, and substantiated. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian regulations, including but not limited to FDA (Cosmetics, Drugs, and Food), EPA, FIFRA, CPSC, and state-specific regulations. The Manager will also partner with external consultants to support regulatory and product safety needs and ensure seamless execution of compliance requirements. Flexibility and strong collaboration across departments are essential to success in this role. Key Responsibilities: + Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as a resource and maintain proactive communication with internal teams (Operations, Quality, Product Development, and Marketing) to ensure quality and regulatory objectives are met. + Supplier Management: Onboard new and existing suppliers in alignment with Supplier Standards, maintain a repository of required documents, and request updated documentation as necessary. + Product Quality Support: Work with both internal and external stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve any product quality issues, ensuring timely and efficient resolution. + Supply Chain Support: Collaborate with suppliers and formulators to identify acceptable alternatives or replacements for raw materials, addressing supply chain disruptions and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. + Regulatory & Quality Documentation: Manage and maintain all regulatory and quality documentation for products and raw materials, coordinating with consultants or third parties as needed. + New Product Development: Support the development of new products by reviewing raw materials and formulations against key regulatory standards and internal policies. + Labeling and Marketing Compliance: Provide guidance and oversight on all product labeling and marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulations, including tracking and substantiating any claims made. + Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products comply with relevant federal and state regulations, including FDA (Cosmetics, Drugs, Food), EPA, and cleaning product regulations. + Retailer Compliance: Ensure all products meet retailer-specific requirements, coordinating product testing and compliance documentation as needed. + Online Compliance: Oversee the accurate posting of key regulatory data, product certifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and other necessary information on company websites and online portals. + Product Testing Coordination: Manage and coordinate any required product testing in accordance with regulatory standards. + Licenses and Registrations: Ensure proper management of regulatory-related licenses, registrations, and related documentation. + External Inquiries: Address regulatory, formulation, and safety inquiries from retailers, consumers, suppliers, and other external parties, ensuring prompt and accurate responses. + Regulatory Trends Monitoring: Proactively track emerging regulatory trends that may impact the business, providing clear summaries and actionable recommendations to the leadership team. Essential Skills: + Experience in Regulatory, Quality, and/or Operations + Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google for Businesses + Solid organizational skills and attention to detail + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Ability to lead and direct the work of others and manage up if needed + Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
