Statement of Purpose The Quality & Safety Specialist (QSS) helps ensure that Milford Regional Medical Center (MRMC) performs at the highest level of state, national and commercial clinical, quality and safety measures. The Quality and Safety Specialist (QSS) actively participates in the ongoing development, project management and promotion of the Quality, Patient Safety, Risk Management & Experience programs at MRMC. The QSS monitors, collects, aggregates and analyzes data and case reviews for complications and overall quality of care. The QSS, in utilizing these skills, assists MRMC in providing optimal care in a cost-effective manner. The QSS’s role in data collection, analysis, summarization and presentation supports the Hospital's performance improvement, patient safety, risk management, Medical Staff, and external agency programs. Facilitates multidisciplinary improvement teams to enhance or develop processes to improve outcomes. Engage stakeholders in developing and executing action plans, tools, educational initiatives, and sustainable systems-based processes. Collaborates with education stakeholders to develop and disseminate education. Works collaboratively with quality improvement teams, quality and patient safety staff, and IT staff to support measurement development and reporting.. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or other Healthcare-related field (MD, RN, PT) required; Master’s degree strongly preferred Certification / License: Current Massachusetts Licensure CPHQ required or achieved within three years Experience: 3 – 5 years of healthcare experience including formal training in healthcare quality Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of quality improvement Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, datasets, methodologies, analytics and reporting required Excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work as a team member Effective presentation skills Able to communicate in a concise, calm, manner Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines/schedules Able to quickly adapt and learn in an ever-changing technical, contractual, and regulatory environment High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
