Job Description
As a Quality Specialist, you will verify routine product conformance to design requirements, provide objective evidence of results, perform auditing, surveillance, and monitoring, identify and document discrepancies, and segregate and control non-conforming items. You will conduct product reviews with customers during product or process verification, identify repetitive or significant non-conformances, and initiate requests for corrective action. Under limited supervision, you will inspect incoming parts/materials and outgoing orders, verify that certification is correct, check parts for processing and special orders, and use micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, and other tools daily. You will also provide mentorship throughout the Inspection team.
ResponsibilitiesConduct dimensional inspections per design record and documented AQL levelsConduct visual inspections for obvious defectsReview and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Quality standardsCommunicate with vendors as neededDisposition and control of non-conforming productsObtain and maintain Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative Stamps for at least three customers (or as applicable by Site size)Active use of stamps requiredReview and approve First Articles from suppliersPerform First Articles for submission to customersIdentify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivityAssist with RCCA activities pertaining to InspectionAssist in internal, customer, and third-party auditsEssential Skills2-4 years of related work experience (4-6 years preferred)Equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experiencePrevious aerospace inspection experienceExperience in QA inspection methods and procedures, including First Article InspectionFluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication)Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skillsRequired to pass documented color and near vision examKnowledge of AS9100 requirementsExperience in the usage of calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator, and Smart scopeProficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel)Understanding of Six Sigma/team conceptsAdvanced GD&T Skills – Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope SystemsAbility to manage multiple and competing prioritiesAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience performing quality inspections within the Aerospace industryExperience with calipers and micrometersExperience in document controlWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
This is a 1st shift position, Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm, in a climate-controlled environment. Overtime is projected, although the exact amount is to be determined.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
