Quality Specialist

The Quality Specialist is responsible for overseeing aspects of quality assurance, supporting Operations to maintain and improve product quality by ensuring adherence to internal Flanders and customer specifications and standards, and assisting in quality and manufacturing improvement projects.
Essential Functions:
Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure adherence to customer, company, and industry standards and regulations throughout Operations. Communicate and train personnel on quality system related procedures and documentation updates. Assist and occasionally lead structured problem-solving projects by using methods such as A3/PDCA & 8D/5-Step. Coach production personnel in the usage of problem-solving and core quality tools. Assist in the development of process control requirements and measurement systems and ensure adherence to defined process control plans. Maintain and update quality documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality manuals. Facilitate the ISO certification process, including performing internal audits. Work closely with Operations personnel, auditing processes on a regular basis to ensure compliance with defined methods and standards. Lead the Non-Conformance process, initiating and following through to resolution for both internal and vendor non-conformances. Maintain metrics applicable to part conformance and develop goals/action plans. Collaborate with other Flanders locations to ensure consistency of methods and identify best practices. Perform occasional inspection of material and parts. Perform internal audits in accordance with the FLANDERS Quality Management System. Create and/or modify Standard Operating Procedures, as needed. Education: Associate’s degree in a technical field is preferred. Experience: 5 years minimum of experience in a quality assurance role, with a proven track record of implementing and managing quality systems. Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D or A3, is preferred. Working knowledge of Metrology is preferred. Experience with quality systems such as ISO9001 is preferred. ISO9001 certified auditor is preferred. Knowledge of quality management principles, tools, and techniques, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO standards.Other:
