POSITION SUMMARY

As a QA Supervisor you will apply your solid understanding of Quality principles and professional practices to contribute to the ongoing development of Mueller’s Quality Management System as manage a growing staff of QA Inspectors across multiple product lines, all while earning a competitive base salary and full benefit offerings for a well-rounded total package for the right individual. This position reports to the OPEX/QA Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES

· Understand ISO-9001-2015 and its implementation, ISO Auditor training a plus.

· Understand and implementation of QMS per ISO-9001-2015.

· Manage technicians’ day-to-day activities and set priorities to meet customer demands.

· Grow the QA group’s knowledge of best practices.

· Part/Assembly Quality review

· Understand test standards and develop procedures to properly test the finished product

· Understand and implement Quality at the Source.

· Ensure that all Quality documents are being recorded and stored appropriately.

· Analyze quality data and create plans based on such improvements.

· Manage Issues Tracking and RCCMs

· Maintain measurement systems calibration, set up and maintain metrology lab.

· ERP/MRP systems – routing, scheduling, item master detail

· Write capital project scope development, justification and management or project.

· Creation of Process Sheets, Work Instruction, Work Standards, etc.

· Maintain Document Control

· Root cause investigation and determination with tools like 5Ys, 8Ds and A3s.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees to include the preparation and presentation of material to upper management.

· Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, Outlook, etc.

· Project management – PMP/PMI an asset

· Strong statistical analysis background

· Lean cell design and continuous improvement

· Lean Six Sigma - Green or black belt training an asset

· Statistical methods (SPC, Pre-Control, Capability Indices)

· Problem solving (DMAIC, 8D, RCCM, PDCA)

· Risk analysis (PFMEA, DFMEA)

· Strong organizational skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Six Sigma black belt a plus

· SharePoint is a plus

· Experience working with rubber injection and compression molding is a plus

· Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment in metal machining and fabrication

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or sufficient experience in the Quality field including supervision.

· Five plus years of Quality experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to remain in stationary position or standing position for prolonged periods and alternate between

· Ability to repeat gross or fine manipulation that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers

· Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal-guarded shoes, and/or ear plugs, while working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.

· The ability to constantly communicate with others to exchange information in person, via phone, and via computer.

· Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds in weight in all directions

· Ability to occasionally reach overhead or at or below shoulder level

· Ability to work around hot heavy machinery.

· Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold)

· Must be able to function in a high-pressure production type environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

· Occasional overnight travel may be required.
