Assumes responsibility for inspection and quality control activities, including incoming and in process inspection, sampling, and the final testing and inspection of finished products to meet specification and quality standards. Plans and directs the work activities for employees performing these functions. Suggest changes in procedures, standards, and utilization of test equipment to facilitate work and maintain quality. May record quality measures and analyze performance using statistical process control methods, maintain and keep current specification sheets on all raw materials and finished products. Interacts with production supervisor and production staff to determine and resolve quality related problems. Support Product Services in the identification and resolution of product quality complaints. Performs normal supervisory functions for the quality department.

Your key responsibilities
Data Management, metrics and reporting using corporate standards for continuous improvement.Budget development, local purchases, PM programs, people and resource management to maximize output. Food Safety, efficiency projects, Internal and External Audits, new process validation.Method development, Streamlining, Cross-training, SOP development, resource and personnel growth.Continuous improvement - Trend analysis, Annual RM and FG Spec review and development of specs for new materials, Engagement with customers on FG specs, Engagement with external stakeholders (IFM/RA/REACH/SDS/Product management).High level technical analysis of materials on a recurring basis. Be able to perform duties of direct reports as needed.Analytical equipment (eg. GCMS) commissioning, maintenance, operation and repair.Ensuring collaboration between direct reports and product specialist for periodic and annual BOM updates.RCA of internal and customer-initiated non-conformances and equipment time management to support R&D needs. Compliance with all Corporate and Local SH&E requirements.
Position level and Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education and training. This position is also eligible benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided. Hourly rate: $34.00-$40.00

You bring
Bachelor’s degree in science, or education/experience equivalent, Three to five years of experience in laboratory environmentExperience with operating and maintaining scientific instruments. Self-reliant and able to work accurately under limited supervision. Able to track multiple projects and prioritize, adapting to business needs. Ability to taste and smell materials derived from mint and mint oils.Must be able to work in production area, laboratory, and shipping areas that have low to moderate noise level, often present strong odors, and may be exposed to outside weather variations.Able to stand, stoop, and/or crouch to access and test samples, as well as sitting for prolonged periods of time at computer. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e., lab coat/googles/gloves)computer proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelBenefits
