Basic Job Functions:

Seeking a creative, forward-thinking, process-minded, effective communicator to join our team. The QC Lead’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

Leading and fostering a culture of quality at their operating location. Engage team and improve Safety of all NTS operations. Directly responsible for day-to-day quality activities at their division. Directly responsible for building, coaching and mentoring the quality team at their division. Tracking and reporting on quality performance, back charges, re-work, etc for all departments. Ensure compliance with procedures and audit established procedures internally and externally, Lead, train, coach, and develop Quality Department personnel on quality requirements, procedures, Identify potential areas of risk and make recommendations.

 

This position will be in Brigham City, UT but may require occasional travel to other production facilities, job sites, vendors/suppliers, etc. on an as required basis.

 

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications: 5 years of direct experience in a Quality Management role for an AISC or ISO certified fabrication shop Experience with AISC certifications and related audit processes Experience in customer interactions, audits, and field issue resolution Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 Knowledge of NDT Methods such as UT, MT, and VT Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and experience with manufacturing of tubular pole structures Minimum Level II NDT (UT, MT, and VT) experience Minimum AMPP Level II Coatings Inspector Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ability to obtain AWS CWI certification. Experience with analyzing internal and external quality data and initiate NCR, CAR, continuous improvement initiatives and determining effectiveness.
