Title: Quality Systems Manager – Spice Mill
Location: McCormick & Company, Inc., 10901 Gilroy Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21031
Duties: Develop, implement, and audit the Quality Systems for all departments of the Plant. Manage sanitation and ensure that all Good Manufacturing Requirements (GMP) are met. Manage Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) program of the Plant, and ensure compliance with Corporate, Regulatory, and Customer requirements. Maintain and implement all plant level procedures that affect food safety and food quality. Manage internal, third party, regulatory and customer audits; maintenance and implementation of plant quality systems, policies and procedures; customer complaint investigations and responses; and required Quality related training for all employees in the facility. Manage a team of direct reports responsible for product release, certificates of analysis, customer complaint resolution, and recertification of products. Maintain and implement the Plant’s Quality Systems Policies and Procedures. Substantiate the Plant’s HACCP Program to ensure that all verifications and validations are current. Maintain documentation of all Quality Programs to assist and support Customer audits. Provide feedback to all plant departments on sanitation and GMP issues. Monitor warehouse performance in areas sanitation/pest control and provide ongoing audits of the program. Produce strategic purchases to maintain quality systems and manage any implementation projects related to the purchase. Sustain Quality Systems programs, HACCP pest control, CGMP, Recall, Food Allergen, and Sanitation Compliant process.
Requirements: Bachelors’ degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field and 4 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation in the retail food industry and private label brands, or any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience must include:
Four (4) years of experience performing or managing internal and external audits to resolve quality issues and improve operational systems in a food manufacturing or food regulatory agency. Four (4) years of experience handling large volume operations and defining levels to ensure private label brand and consumer protection in a food manufacturing or food regulatory body. Four (4) years of experience managing a food safety team and providing training to plant technicians to improve efficiency and food safety. Four (4) years of experience developing and implementing protocols and processes for quality assurance, food safety, sanitation, audit and inspection, and waste reduction in a food manufacturing plant or in the consumer packaged food industry. Four (4) years of experience applying standards of HACCP, GMP, and Risk Assessment. One (1) year of experience managing consumer related affairs, including customer/consumer complaints, consumer protection. Requires certifications in HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF Practitioner, and PCQI. Demonstrated experience with FDA and/or USDA compliant Food Safety Programs and related required documentation. Demonstrated analytical skillset and experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: $122,013-124,513/year + standard benefits; Hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week
