Quality Systems Specialist
Job Title: Quality Systems Specialist Department: 1015 - Quality Location: High Bridge, NJ Summary The Quality Systems Specialist supports process controls and process improvements, maintains document control system, including creating, reviewing, and revising documentation according to standard operating procedures, and cooperates in driving quality improvement within the organization. This is a hands-on role that requires work in production areas as needed. Responsibilities + Evaluate Quality Program Requirements per regulations, standards, and customer related quality program requirements. + Review and update as necessary Work Instructions, Quality Procedures, Quality System Procedures + Train or assist in training facility on Quality System Programs/Procedures + Drive development of the quality system for production processes and process improvement + Participating and/or perform in internal and external audits. + Reviewing TMSCAC and supplier procedures and documentation. + Participating in continual improvements to increase productivity and reduce scrap. + Preparing and dispositioning (as applicable) NCRs, CARs, and CDRs, utilizing this information to investigate the cause of the defective product focusing on raw material, process equipment and personnel. + Scheduling: maintain a schedule and notify appropriate department/individual of vendor audits expiration, certification expirations, inspector qualifications, auditor qualifications, equipment calibrations, training expirations, etc. + Other duties as assigned. + The successful candidate for this position will be a US citizen and will be self-directed, confident in technical matters, and comfortable interfacing both with other departments and representing the company directly with customers. Qualifications + Skillset: control plan management; process monitoring and improvement; lean manufacturing (process mapping, standard work definition, etc.); root cause analysis and formal corrective action; knowledgeable of ISO 9001 quality systems + Other valuable skills: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis; design of experiments; internal auditing; calibration management; job shop manufacturing experience; up-front specification review and contract review; familiarity with inspection methods (traditional dimensional or CMM systems, NDT: penetrant, magnetic particle, or ultrasonic) + Computer skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. + Language: English (Spanish an asset) + Effective communicator before groups of customers and employees of Trident Maritime Systems. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Solution-oriented. Education and/or Experience + Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years related experience. + Knowledgeable of ISO 9001 Quality Systems.
