Quality Technician
Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Perform visual and dimensional inspection using hand and automated inspection tools. + Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents. + Must be fully competent in using hand inspection tools (ie micrometers, calipers, height gage, universal protractor, etc.) + Must be fully competent in using automated inspection tools (i.e. CMM, 2D inspection Machine, etc.) + Must be computer literate and can process and collect inspection data + Must have a great attention to detail, able to complete tasks under time constraints, be dependable and persistent in completing tasks + Must have knowledge of quality principles and be able to perform quality related tasks including planning/completing first articles. + Participate in team meetings and effectively + Will perform additional tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager. Qualification Requirements + A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Technician role + Knowledge of and experience with hand and automated inspection equipment + Computer literate and able to process inspection data in a timely manner + One year or more quality experience working in an aerospace, military or related mechanical product facility + Experience with supplier self-release programs for aerospace (GE, Rolls Royce etc) preferred Education + Two-year associate’s in science degree. + High School education required, will consider individuals with significant positive experience with quality initiatives without degree Behavior Traits + Independence/Reliability – performs work with little or no supervision and can be trusted regarding task completion and follow-up + Creativity/Initiative – propose ideas, find new and better ways of doing things, seek out additional assignments and assume additional duties when necessary + Adherence to Policy – follow safety and conduct rules and other regulations.
