Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quality Technician located in USA, SC, Columbia.

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor the Quality Technician role involves performing inspection and quality check reports.

What a typical day looks like:

Audits processes, tests and inspects products and/or develops, compiles and evaluates statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability of products.Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause research, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions.Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards.Selects processes to be audited from primarily the manufacturing areas and checks for a variety of features, including ESD (electro-static discharge) and handling practices, documentation, training and process integrity.Selects products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical, electrical or cosmetic characteristics.Records audit data, applying statistical quality control procedures.Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.Perform calibration on inspection tools e.g. micrometers, calipers height gages etcMaintain gage track program, print list of gages due for calibration in the beginning of each month and follow up with calibration.Send gages out for calibration, maintain calibration records.Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for research data.Download quality information from quality system to be used for QA reports.Researches for engineering test results and implements process changes to resolve problems.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Has awareness of and may apply new technologies. Team WorkingBasic comprehension of typical quality tools, such as 8d, statistical process control, FEMA and control plans. ISO / ESD Auditing experience a plus.Use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation package. technologies and technological changes. Demonstrated Green Belt activities. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense comprehension to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
