We are currently seeking a Quality Technician at our Rialto, CA location. Schedule is 6:00AM - 2:30PM, Monday - Friday (Overtime and Saturday work may be required based on production needs)
Job Summary
Inspects received and assembled product. Monitors the manufacturing process according to established standards. Works with the Quality and Operations groups to ensure quality product is shipped to customers on time. Works under the guidance of the Quality Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Perform internal audits in accordance with our certified management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
+ Recording and follow up of internal audit findings
+ Drive the improvement of product and service quality by participating and/or corrective and preventive actions and verifying the results.
+ Conduct dimensional and cosmetic inspections of purchased components, mechanical assemblies and installed assemblies.
+ Completing inspection sections of the Receiving process in ERP system
+ Write Nonconformance Reports (MRB Case) in ERP system and Power Business applications.
+ Assist manufacturing operations to quickly identify, contain and permanently resolve quality issues.
+ Conduct targeted studies of process capability, and gage repeatability/reproducibility.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Ability to perform internal audits to management system requirements
+ Ability to use root cause analysis tools to understand complex situations, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
+ Ability to lead corrective action teams to closure
+ Intermediate knowledge/use of an ERP system.
+ Ability to use basic inspection tools such as: height gage, weld gage, radius gage, thread gages, drop indicator, pi tape, calipers and micrometers
+ Utilizing basic inspection techniques for Geometric Design and Tolerancing call outs
+ Support in the facilities general tool calibration program
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Teams & Power Point)
+ Ability to write Quality task related work instructions.
+ Inspires, motivates, and collaborates with others
+ Self-motivated; able to work with minimal direction
+ Anticipates needs and problems while creating solutions
Credentials and Experience
+ Associates degree, or higher, in a technical field preferred
+ Minimum of a High School diploma or GED required
+ American Society for Quality (ASQ) Quality Technician (CQT) certification is preferred.
+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Quality Technician (or greater role) in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality manufacturing environment required.
+ Proficiency in the use of basic inspection tools is required
+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical Engineering drawings is required
+ Ability to use ERP systems is preferred
+ Ability to conduct internal audits to ISO management systems required
+ Knowledge of corrective action processes (8D, A3, etc) required
+ Ability to use root cause analysis tools is required
+ Basic understanding of electrical principles is preferred
+ Basic understanding of GD&T is preferred
Work Environment
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. There are frequent instances in which tasks will be performed in ambient temperatures including heat, cold and windy conditions.
Physical Demands
+ The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
