Position Summary:
The Quality Systems Technician assists the Quality team with implementation of company-wide operations procedures and process to support the overall Quality Assurance plan. This role support Quality improvement throughout the shop floor and within the team concept. Participate as cross-functional team member within assigned goal-oriented team responsibility.
**This is a full time, onsite role at our Bethlehem, PA manufacturing facility.**
Responsibilities:
Inspection of incoming materials & components, ABEC manufactured items, and assembled systems in order to ensure conformance to established quality standards and all related quality documentation requirements.Conduct in-process inspections and prepare reporting documents as required during manufacturing.Conduct “Walk Downs” of systems using the Job Data file to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.Involvement as requested during Pre-FAT activities.Final Inspection of Vessel & Systems for approval of packaging/crating of equipment.Conduct various administrative functions as required in support of Quality Department activities.Assist in controlling & maintaining test equipment and calibration of test equipment within ABEC.Filing of project-related and Quality Department documentation.Assist in the auditing of project Turnover Packages (TOPs).Interaction with customers and vendors as needed.Inspection of incoming materials & components, ABEC manufactured items, and assembled systems in order to ensure conformance to established quality standards and all related quality documentation requirements.Physical inspection of manufactured parts to verify conformance to design drawings and related specifications (material, dimensional, surface finish, etc.).Ensure accurate and complete receipt of all required quality-related documentation.Travel to other ABEC facilities, vendor locations or customer sites as required to support Quality Department activities.Follow all safety rules and policies.Execute other tasks as assigned.Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity. RequirementsRequirements:
HS Diploma minimum, Associate Degree in a technical field preferred.3 years post graduate work in a related field or function.Certified Quality Inspector, (CQI) / Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred but not mandatory. Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus. Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus. Necessary to be able to maintain a clean and safe working environment.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Travel may be required.
