**Job Title: Quality Technician**
**Job Description**
Audits processes, tests and inspects products, and develops, compiles, and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products.
**Responsibilities**
+ Work from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause analysis, internal corrective actions, and supplier correction actions.
+ Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
+ Select processes to be audited from primarily the manufacturing areas and check for a variety of features, including ESD (electro-static discharge) and handling practices, documentation, training, and process integrity.
+ Select products for audits at specified stages in the production or post-production process, and test products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic characteristics.
+ Record audit data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
+ Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
+ Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards, programs, or reports to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability.
+ Perform calibration on inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
+ Maintain gauge track program, print a list of gauges due for calibration at the beginning of each month, and follow up with calibration.
+ Send gauges out for calibration and maintain calibration records.
+ Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into a computer for analysis.
+ Download quality information from the quality system to be used for QA reports.
+ Analyze engineering test results and implement process changes to resolve problems.
+ Perform out-of-box audits (OBA) as required.
+ Provide factory support to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials, and manufacturing.
+ May be required to perform receiving inspection.

+ Competence in downloading quality information from the quality system for QA reports.
+ Aptitude for analyzing engineering test results and implementing process changes.
+ Experience in performing out-of-box audits (OBA).
+ Ability to provide factory support for resolving issues with purchased parts, materials, and manufacturing.
+ Willingness to perform receiving inspection as required.

**Work Environment**
The position is for a Quality Technician working from 6am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and work that requires repetitive motion. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision. The ability to handle small components is essential.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Milpitas, California.
