Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
To perform visual, dimensional and functional testing of a wide variety of plastic bottles
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Follow general inspection guidelines to perform visual, dimensional and functional testing on all types of plastic bottles Conduct challenge testing on downstream line equipment including leak testers, CI vision, counters, and flaming Determine appropriate inspection methods and test procedures to verify conformance to product specifications Make sound decisions regarding the acceptance of product based on written procedures and established limit samples Accurately document all inspection and test results in accordance with GMP and ISO standards Hold and disposition product based on the results of quality testing Exercise good judgment and care when handling gauges and test equipment Ensure that all test equipment has a current calibration sticker Comply with appropriate safety guidelines and report any safety incident or potential hazard to management Assist with the organization and cleaning of assigned work area Work effectively with all departments to meet and exceed internal and external expectations
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in a quality related field preferred
American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification preferred
Experience: At least two years’ experience in a Quality Assurance or related environment
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
Previous work experience in visual and dimensional inspection
Knowledge and Skills: Computer proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Able to read and interpret work instructions, procedures, and drawings
Proficient with hand measurement tools and non-contact measurement systems
Recognize and define problems, collect data, and develop conclusions
Basic mathematical and statistical skills
Preferred Knowledge: Lotus Notes, Real SPC, and SAP
