Basic Job Description:
Assists and supports the Quality Engineers by providing production expertise to resolve Quality issues within the production operation. This position is for the 11 pm - 7 am shift.
Detailed Description: Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Inspects incoming components received from suppliers Uses various equipment to ensure product meets all customer requirements Conducts in-process and finished product inspections/audits, checking for workmanship, cosmetic specifications, tolerances and usability from a functional standpoint May check internal product integrity including PCB’s, components and fit and placement Monitors product quality trends to identify possible problems and escalates to appropriate person(s) Separates and identifies non-conforming product and ensures corrective actions have been made according to process engineering for proper disposition Ensures that the implemented changes and corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues are respected in the manufacturing line Maintains documentation on inspected product Provides records and reports for data purposes and Statistical monitoring May provide assistance to the engineering team during product qualification Assists and supports support First Article Assessment activities Supports internal, industry and customer audits as required Supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality Processes & Supports the RMA quality related activities
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
Ability to exercise good judgment in providing quality guidance. Ability to effectively communicate with internal customers. Understanding of quality and manufacturing standards. Knowledge of inspection procedures and standards (AQL) Basic knowledge of computer applications and the ability to perform tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel. Knowledge of shop floor control and quality management documentation systems such as Spectrum Pro, EtQ. Must possess or obtain specific certifications as defined by site operations Skills for evaluating, diagnosing and solving problems encountered in the manufacturing Basic Mathematical skills Well organized
Physical Demands:
Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating equipment, temperature extremes, etc. Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies Above demands are carried out within the Company and statutory Health and Safety guidelines
Typical Experience:
One to three years’ relevant experience preferred
Typical Education:
Additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
