Quality Technician

Quality Technician is responsible for supporting Operations to maintain and improve product quality by ensuring adherence to all internal Flanders and customer specifications, standards and assisting in quality and manufacturing improvement projects.

Work closely with Operations personnel, auditing processes on a daily basis to ensure compliance with defined methods and standards; monitor and track process performance. Assist and occasionally lead structured problem-solving projects by using disciplined methods such as 8D. Perform occasional inspection of material and parts. Assist in the development of process control requirements and measurement systems and ensure adherence to defined process control plans. Lead the Non-Conformance process, initiating and following through to resolution for both internal and vendor non-conformances. Facilitate failure and root cause analysis of returned products for warranty evaluation. Coach production personnel in the usage of problem-solving and core quality tools. Collaborate with other Flanders locations to ensure consistency of methods and identify best practices. Communicate and train personnel on quality system related procedures and documentation updates.

 

Education and required experiences:

Associates Degree in a technical field is preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D or A3, is preferred. Working knowledge of Metrology is preferred. Experience with quality systems such as ISO9001 is preferred.Hands-on collaborative approach with plant floor operations team.Results oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility.Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with a wide range of functions.
