Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Technician to join our team. The Quality Technician will be responsible for testing finished products for various quality metrics such as acid, salt, pH, and sulfites. The role also includes performing metal detection, monitoring fill weights, drained weights, defects, and identifying any abnormal colors or flavors. Ensuring coding accuracy on packaging and cases, performing audits, and resolving any product quality issues are crucial aspects of this role. Responsibilities + Test finished products for acid, salt, pH, and sulfites. + Perform metal detection and monitor fill weights, drained weights, defects, and abnormal colors or flavors. + Ensure coding is correct on packaging and cases. + Perform audits and solve any product quality issues. + Complete quality assurance/control paperwork. + Comply with GMPs, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA, and other safety protocols. Essential Skills + Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related field. + Strong attention to detail. + Ability to uphold quality standards and ensure manufacturing accountability. + 1+ years of experience in quality control. + 1+ years of GMP and FDA/USDA experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous food manufacturing or HACCP/food safety experience is a plus. Work Environment This role is based in a food manufacturing facility specializing in sauerkraut production, where the smell can be intense at times. The position is lab-based, but sample collection on the production floor is required. The work shift is from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with some overtime on Saturdays during harvest season. Training will take place on the day shift and will last 2-4 weeks. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
