Job Description
The Quality Technician will work in a 50/50 split between the plant floor and a lab setting. The role involves performing various inspections, documenting and communicating results, and ensuring compliance with GMP and USDA requirements. This position is crucial for maintaining quality and safety standards in our production processes.
ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections including Pre-Operative and Food Safety, and document and communicate results.Conduct Daily Operating Inspections to ensure compliance with GMP and USDA requirements.Perform Magnet and Metal Detector Record Checks and inform Supervisor of deficiencies.Conduct ATP swab tests - daily and weekly line swabs.Calibrate lab equipment including lab scale, pH meter, and salt analyzer.Perform Organic start-up tests ensuring proper documentation and triple rinsing of the line.Review previous day's HACCP records daily.Change thermometer recorder charts as needed.Conduct Quality Audits including quality systems, production scales, and salt analyzers, and document and communicate results.Perform in-bound checks and verify COA’s to ensure they meet requirements.Maintain stock of laboratory and production supplies as directed.Liaise with USDA representatives.Distribute weekly Code Date Sheets in a timely manner.Report and follow-up on Food Safety and Food Quality concerns.Perform Pizza Line Coverage checks.Notify Supervisor of all down times.Follow and enforce all Food Safety PPE/GMP requirements and report any concerns.Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.Essential SkillsExperience in quality checks and inspections, specifically within the food industry.Knowledge of GMP, quality assurance, and quality control.Familiarity with biology and chemistry concepts.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma with science classes or lab courses.6 months to 1+ years of manufacturing experience in the food-related industry or a B.S. degree in Life Sciences with 0 years of industry experience.An Associates degree in Life Sciences with 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience in the food-related industry.6 months to 1+ years of GMP experience, open to related environments like ISO and GLP.0-2 years of quality experience (ideal but not mandatory).Work Environment
The role involves working in a 50/50 lab setting and plant floor where frozen pizza is made. The environment is cold. The job includes conducting various lab tests such as salt, pH, yeast, mold, air plates, and ATP testing (swabbing). The work is more computer-based, requiring approval before proceeding with production.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.50/hr.
