Quality Technician
Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description This position supports daily production of products, works on continuous improvement on the shop floor, manages the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) and NCR (Non-Conformance Report) linked to their scope of activities, and assures compliance to ISO and FDA standards in relation to Manufacturing Quality activities. The Manufacturing QA Technician partners with the Manufacturing QEs to support Quality Inspectors (QAR) in daily activities. Responsibilities + Assist production and participate in achieving group objectives determined with Production or group managers, relative to Quality. + Support efforts to implement LEAP principles throughout the organization, such as participating in PSM or LEAP workshops. + Represent QA and report KPI during daily cross-functional PSM2 meetings. + Investigate NCRs, particularly those linked to the shop floor or suppliers, adhering to defined due dates and utilizing problem-solving tools when applicable. + Interface with suppliers regarding SCARs and with customers in case of complaints based on experience. + Interface with QARs to ensure they are properly trained and documentation is accurate, escalating to the QE or QA manager as necessary. + Potentially perform visual inspections, including using vision systems, CMM, and microscopes depending on floor bandwidth. + Create and maintain updated work instructions, inspection plans, and inspection work instructions, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and standards. Essential Skills + Quality assurance and control experience in the medical device industry. + 3+ years of experience with Non-Conformance Reporting (NCRs). + Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). + Technical quality troubleshooting for products and processes. + Experience with continuous improvement processes. + Knowledge of ISO and FDA compliance standards. + ERP system knowledge. + Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment. + Proficiency in Calypso and SolidWorks. + Lean manufacturing expertise. + KPI reporting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Support Manufacturing QEs in common activities or investigations. + Train employees in the proper use of automated inspection equipment and documentation. + Perform basic maintenance of inspection equipment. + Support and troubleshoot programs in production. + Advanced blueprint reading skills. + Competent in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel). + Technical writing skills. + Experience in an ISO:2016 certified system. + Understanding of fixturing and tooling. + Advanced knowledge of inspection equipment and maintenance. + Experience with 2D and 3D CAD (SolidWorks). Work Environment This role is based in a clean manufacturing facility operating out of the Big Lake, MN Facility, which has seen substantial growth over the past two years. The facility is currently undergoing a 50,000 sq ft expansion and adding state-of-the-art equipment, including new robotics and automation lines. The company promotes a family-first culture and offers flexible start times. Employees receive guaranteed overtime pay of 1.5 times the regular rate. One of the openings is due to an internal QA Tech being promoted to a QE, highlighting potential career growth opportunities based on performance. The standard work hours are Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days, and 5.5 hours on Fridays. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $76960.00/yr.
