Overview

Hire Resolve is excited to present an opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a multi-disciplinary consulting firm in Johannesburg. This individuals will play a vital role in managing the cost and financial management of a variety of construction projects spanning multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting detailed cost estimates and generating bills of quantities for various construction projects. Preparing, managing, and negotiating project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines. Assessing project risks and developing cost-effective strategies to mitigate those risks. Assisting in procurement processes, including preparing tender documentation and evaluating submissions. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver outstanding project results. Monitoring project costs, preparing monthly reports detailing progress and identifying variances from the budget. Maintaining updated knowledge of construction contracts, materials, and market prices. Providing advice and support on contractual claims, variations, and final accounts. Ensuring all work complies with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices.

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a multi-disciplinary construction environment. Proficient in using estimation software, particularly WinQS and DimensionX. Strong understanding of construction contracts, including JBCC, FIDIC, and NEC. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with clients and subcontractors. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Willingness to travel to project sites as required. Professional registration with the SACQSP will be an advantage.
