Sitting within our Property function, as Building Cost Manager/In-house CQS you will be a professional subject matter expert, ideally with Line Management experience.

 

The Opportunity – As Building Cost Manager / In-house CQS, you will:

Lead, train, and develop the Building Services Account Control function.Successfully manage project cost for your area of responsibility.Lead and manage third party Quantity Surveying Companies, holding monthly reviews, and ensuring that work is executed and managed in line with contract and expectations.Build, develop, and maintain excellent working relationships with our internal Building Development teams as you will manage project cost and budget control processes and reporting within the group covering c.£90m of project expenditure.Lead on procurement and tendering exercises within your remit and utilise your proven background to effectively deliver in partnership with supply chain.Ensure health, safety considerations are paramount in all decisions and activities.  Provide period reporting in respect of H&S management.Ensure the companies liquor and associated licenses are not endangered at any time.Maintain database of tender activity and advise on Contractors and Suppliers for further tenders based on previous cost exercises.Audit projects both before start and after completion, produce reports identifying issues and trends.

 

What you’ll need to bring to this role …

At least 3 years Quantity Surveying experience preferably with experience and knowledge of fit out or retail works.RICS AccreditedHigh degree of maturity, excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills, high degree of self-motivationPrevious Line Management experience is highly desirable but not essential if you are passionate about managing and developing othersDegree in a Construction related discipline, preferably Quantity Surveying.
