Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world.
Wood is seeking an established Quantity Surveyor to support our growing workload within the Commercial area of our Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity. As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.
This role provides flexibility as a hybrid role, working between home, site offices based near the Inverness area, and ideally our Glasgow office. Alternatively, we can consider a remote based working from home option with the flexibility to travel regularly to site. We offer a supportive work environment, competitive salary, and the opportunity to work in Scotland for a 6-year framework with our client SSE. We are also recruiting for a second Quantity Surveyor in the Argyll area for a 3-year duration for the same client; the preference would be for a site based individual but hybrid and remote/home working with travel may also be considered. If you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor, eager to work with a dynamic team and keen to take on new challenges, we encourage you to apply.
This role is perfect for an established and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor from a civils/ infrastructure or construction background who is comfortable working as the Principal Contractor, although not essential, with a wide range of projects under their belt who is looking for a new high-profile multi-million-pound contract challenge. The successful candidate will be experienced in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting. You will be assigned to oversee and manage our geotechnical subcontractor who has been tasked to deliver a challenging ground investigation. Successful delivery will involve managing the Client and Subcontractor simultaneously. There will be opportunity for future progression and to work on further Scotland based transmission and distribution projects thereafter. Sound commercial judgement, flexibility, the ability to collaborate with others via MS Teams and travel to sites across Scotland is key.
