Arup has a strong brand for the delivery of technically excellent and timely ecological assessment and statutory approvals in Queensland. The aim of this role is to work closely with other leaders in Queensland and nationally to grow the ecology team and build Arup’s capability in ecology; in transport, water, waste and renewable energy projects.
The Opportunity
Spearhead the Growth and Innovation of Our Queensland Ecology Team: Take the helm in expanding our ecology division in Queensland, driving technical excellence and strategic growth. Lead High-Impact, Complex Ecology Projects: Oversee and deliver major ecology projects, ensuring seamless coordination of teams, resources, and facilities across tight timelines and budgets, with opportunities to support similar initiatives nationwide. Cultivate and Empower the Next Generation of Ecologists: Lead the development of talent within our Queensland team by mentoring and empowering ecologists, driving their growth and performance through expert guidance, training, and inspiration. Collaborate Closely with Business Leaders to Secure High-Profile Projects: Work hand-in-hand with top-level management to win key contracts, contributing to both ecology-focused and multi-disciplinary proposals that shape our success. Champion Client Relations and Represent Arup on a National Stage: Take ownership of building and maintaining strong client relationships in Queensland and beyond, acting as the face of Arup in both regional and national arenas.Is this role right for you?
Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Marine/aquatic sciences, Environmental Science or related discipline. 15 + years of relevant industry experience in major transport and infrastructure projects and/renewable energy projects within a consulting or government business environment. Suitably Qualified Professional (SQP) status for protected plants surveys in Queensland seen favourably but not mandatory. Relevant industry experience undertaking field work in the area of terrestrial or marine/aquatic ecology.What we offer you
