Your role and responsibilities

•\tDeveloping the business line R&D for medium- and long-term strategies, derives consistent business strategies and targets and implements them in local organization•\tManaging and developing resources and competencies together with other R&D managers plus defining local development focus areas (core competencies)•\tEnsuring appropriate legal contracts and policies for IP, NDAs, tax regulations etc. are consistent with the local law, ABB guidelines•\tServing as the key technical entry point and high-level discussion partner for the global R&D management regarding technologies addressed by the local business line R&D organization•\tDrives and fosters a culture of innovation within the department. Develops capability in their own organization to ensure employees can challenge the status quo regarding technical issues, projects, tools, and/or processes.•\tBuilds, develops, and maintains trust-based relationships with internal external key stakeholders.•\tInspires, guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies. •\tBuilds effective, competent, and high-performing teams.

Qualifications for the role

\tMaster’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics\t15+ years of proven track record in leading technical and managerial R&D positions\tBroad technical knowledge of the relevant technologies for Energy distribution and home automation\tGood knowledge over IP strategy, risk management, quality assurance, project management and competence and process improvement processes, tools and methods\tGood overall understanding of the product development related processes and manufacturing technologies and basic financial knowledge\tPossess a good understanding of macroeconomic trends and opportunities in relation to the R&D function.\tStrategic thinker and strong customer focused\tInspiring and inclusive leadership and demonstrated good record of building and managing effective teams\tOne-level-up thinking & Collaboration, proven ability to work collaboratively across different businesses and teams, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.\tGrowth and innovation mindset\tFluent in English
