R & D Architect Support Engineer/Systems Engineer - TS/SCIKBR is seeking a R&D Architect Support Engineer/Systems Engineer. This position will serve as a technical member of a dynamic systems engineering team supporting the NRO Ground Directorate (GED)/Advanced Ground Group (AGG) organization. The candidate will support the Applied Research & Development (R&D) acquisition, integration and test initiatives with a specific focus area. Specifically, the candidate will support pathfinding and transition of applications and mission capabilities to the operations environment for Multi-Intelligence hard intelligence problems.
Responsibilities include:
Provide Day-to-Day collaboration with the Government Customer, FFRDC teams, SETA and GED development contractors as well as External Agency mission partnersProvide oversight, monitor development and integration activities and ensure alignment of priorities and resources consistent with US Government requirements and objectivesAnalyze a wide variety of mission thread projects for impact on the existing and planned system architectureAssist in ensuring decisions about AGG R&E Systems are consistent with an open-architecture constructAdvise Senior and mid-level US Government managers on acquisition decisions regarding a portfolio of AGG projectsSupport technical consultation, meeting coordination, and prepare and present architecture and acquisition recommendation briefingsEstablish and maintain the System View-1 (SV-1) Systems Interface Description document baseline linking together the operational and systems architectureThis position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closureRequired Qualifications:
B.S. in engineering, physics or related technical degree or relevant experienceExperience in space/ground aerospace systems engineeringKnowledge of system architectures, architecture evolution and interface definitionDemonstrated knowledge of the NRO with special emphasis on Ground SystemsAt least 35 years’ experience with space/ground testing and systems engineering, systems integration, Verification, Validation and Transition (IVV&T) activitiesExperience supporting agile software development and verification strategies and integration of new systems and initiatives in support of expanded mission capabilitiesExperience with test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing resultsDesired Qualifications:
Experience with architecting in an agile software development paradigmDemonstrated understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Ability to perform architecture analysis, trades, and system integration closure activitiesExperience within an acquisition office in the NRO, NGA or related Intelligence CommunityPrior experience with NRO ground mission processing or mission control systems, and/or mission operations is highly desiredExperience with commercial IVV&T techniques in service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments is also highly desirableExperience interacting with User Community across a wide variety of intelligence and phenomenology disciplinesSecurity Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI with poly required
