Formulation and reverse engineering of skin, body, and hair care products employing general cosmetic science and laboratory principles and techniques.
ResponsibilitiesFormulate and reverse engineer skin, body, and hair care products using general cosmetic science and laboratory principles and techniques.Work on O/W, W/O emulsions, gels, pomades, mousses, shampoos, conditioners, body wash, hand soaps, and OTC formulations.Create sample submission forms, ingredient lists, formula registrations, and other necessary documents.Research new products, chemistry, and innovation to drive new business opportunities.Stay up to date with changes in regulatory requirements from the FDA and global market compliance.Possess a working knowledge of formula scale-up and manufacturing equipment.Apply documentation and recording techniques common to laboratory practices.Essential SkillsChemistryHPLCQuality ControlFormulationsResearch & DevelopmentLaboratory TechniquesAnalytical ChemistryGMPAdditional Skills & QualificationsB.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline (minimum required).3-5 years of related experience in formulating skin care, hair care, pet care, and OTC products.In-depth knowledge of the principles of cosmetic science.Experience working at a contract manufacturer preferred.Work Environment
The candidate will be working in a laboratory environment. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 1st Shift, 7:00 am-4:00 pm, with some overtime and weekends as needed. Office equipment includes a computer, keyboard, copier, and fax machine. Laboratory equipment includes a weighing scale, pH meter, viscometer, FT-IR, pycnometer, and luminometer. The dress code requires close-toed shoes and no jewelry.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00
