R&D Chemist (Chemical Manufacturing)
MAPEI, a global leader in the building materials industry, is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Chemist to join our R&D team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to launch your scientific career while contributing to the development of cutting-edge products in an industry-leading organization.   Key Responsibilities: Product Development: Support the development of new products and improvements to existing ones by applying scientific methods and best practices. Experimentation: Conduct complex, multi-step experiments with minimal supervision. Utilize laboratory procedures to execute and report on assigned tasks, identifying potential problems in the process. Data Management: Plan, record, compile, and present data in the required formats, maintaining accurate records in scientific notebooks. Testing and Quality: Apply assigned test methods following established quality procedures. Assist in quality control and support customer technical service and production operations as needed. Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety rules, company policies, and regulations. Attend safety and staff meetings and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols. Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors to support the broader R&D objectives and perform additional duties as assigned Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field is required. Experience in Cement and Color Formulations, strong plus. Experience in laboratory work, including the ability to execute multi-step experiments. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to detect and troubleshoot potential problems. Proficiency in recording, managing, and presenting scientific data. Ability to work independently while also being a team player. Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
