R&D Compatibility Clerk

Title:  R&D Clerk
Location:  South Plainfield, NJ
Schedule:  M-F 8 AM- 4 PM
Type:  Contract

Responsibilities:
Prepare lab samples, perform laboratory testing and determine compatibility of various material structures for process control or product development and support other R&D functions in a fast-paced environment. Role ensures accurate data entry, document control, sample management and regulatory paperwork support. This is to ensure proper tracking, compliance and efficient workflow.
Willing to travel to multiple locations to do other R&D functions. Data Management & Document Control Ability to work with computer using Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP, and other software company uses to enter data. Enter & update test files Emailing updates of test progress to internal teams  Maintain traceability, scan & store, and filing of test requests and test documents (SDS, CofA, ingredient listing, fill/handling instructions, etc.. Support in writing up formulas & regulatory documents as needed for customers Support blending batch card processing Sample & Testing Management, and R&D Support Prepare samples for compatibility & stability testing on materials as per SOPs and standards for Color, Odor, and Appearance of bulk. Track & submit samples for approval. Must be able to create new documents and print using Microsoft and Excel. Keep compatibility request up to date on both calendar and drive. Ability to prepare samples for lab submission and stability batches for testing. Be able to create mock-up samples utilizing prototyping equipment and packets. Additional Responsibilities: Label and shipping of prototype and test samples Follow Good Documentation Practice Maintain a fully detailed record of all bulk retains, samples created and test results. Maintain balance weight verification and oven temperatures; keep current records up to date. Requirements: BS Chemistry or related science Internship or some experience in a manufacturing environment (food, cosmetic, packaging, etc.) Good computer skills (excel, emails) and good communication
