The Claremont Fiber plant is seeking talented engineers to lead the transfer and industrialization of new processes developed by the optical fiber research and development team.  The candidate will need to oversee the deployment of these processes into the standard production of the factory.  The processes will vary in level of maturity and it is the responsibility of the industrialization team with support from R&D to successfully and efficiently implement them.

Requirements:

2 years minimum of experienceB.S. in EngineeringCapability to travel to other factories in Europe to understand and master new processesDemonstrated ability to understand complex process flow and machinesBecome the subject matter expert in the assigned process areaDemonstrate capability to independently prioritize tasks to make progress on short term and long term initiativesReport directly to R&D Leadership team in Douvrin, FranceAbility to work with global teams whose native language is not always EnglishDemonstrated ability to work in high pressure situations with tight timelinesExcellent communication & presentation skillsExperience in querying and analyzing large sets of data to make data driven decisionsDevelop and lead the plant’s culture of continuous process improvementDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Preferred:

5 years of experience in a process and/or development engineering roleDemonstrated capability to introduce and/or industrialize a new processesExperience in the optical fiber manufacturing industry (Deposition/Overclad/Fiber Draw processes)Ability and desire to provide leadership for process techniciansFluent in FrenchExperience with statistical analysis tools such as MinitabUses DMAIC/CI tools to structure and execute projects

Responsibilities:

Understand and Deploy processes into production that have been developed in an R&D setting.  The process may or may not be fully industrialized upon transfer and the team will be responsible to industrialize at an efficient paceDevelop/Translate process documentation relating to the new or modified processesIndustrialize processes to the point that they are meeting defined productivity and process yield targets before transferring to plant productionOrganize and manage new process rollout on a machine by machine basis coordinating modifications to equipment/software/recipes etc…Travel to other manufacturing sites several times per year (Travel typically less than 10%)Provide guidance or suggestions to other departments (operations, maintenance) as it relates to the process areaDefine and implement improvement projects that reduce cost and or improve product qualityCollaborate with engineers at other international Prysmian plants to resolve complex process problemsBecome a lead contributor of the global process control team with a desire to generate changeComply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines
