Job Title

R&D Engineer II

Provide engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

With limited direction, conduct engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.Participate significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.Contribute to project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.Devise basic research methods and document results and procedures.Operate process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles.Exercise responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company.Participate in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.Undertake further training to improve skills.

Job Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, industrial engineering, chemical engineering and at least three years relevant experience;Or: Masters degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, industrial engineering, chemical engineering.

Experience:

Hands-on experience strongly desired.3D printing/additive manufacturing experience a plus but not required.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Sound basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics, engineering science and ceramic processing.Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Organized, detail-oriented person necessary.Team player.Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Position Specific Physical Requirements:

Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment in designated areas.Must be able to lift 50 lb.

Target Hiring Range

Annual Salary: USD 89,303.00 - USD 117,880.00
