R&D Department Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.The work model for the role is: #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in San Luis Potosi.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tSupport the NAM Business line products execution of LCAs and relevant environmental product declarations.•\tMake sure the certifications of the environmental declarations are executed in accordance with standards and legislations.•\tAlign processes/guidelines and practices with the common approach followed by the entire ELDS product lines.•\tActively monitoring sustainability and environmental legislation and supports the necessary trainings to the local sustainability teams.•\tManages and expands relationships with other R&D teams in Technology Centers or Corporate Research Centers, stakeholders, internal functions and external relevant parties (e.g. customers, academia).•\tEffectively communicates appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support.•\tUses input from others and provides support to colleagues or other functional teams on technical, quality and project management.

Qualifications for the role

\tBachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical or mechatronics, energy engineering)\t2 years Experience in product design and 1 year experience product sustainability (electrical power systems experience preferred) | Solidworks, CAD and PLM Proficiency\tKnowledge and understanding of UL, ANSI, and IEEE standards (Preferred)\tAdvanced English is a must\tAbility to travel 6 months to USA for training (Active USA VISA and Passport required)
