Volt is immediately hiring for an R&D Engineering Expert in Santa Clara, CA. The successful candidate will leverage their experience programming laboratory robots to develop automated sample preparation procedures to enhance workflow data quality and increase sample throughput while decreasing time-to-results and labor costs.

\r\n\r\n

As an R&D Engineering Expert you will:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tTranslate manual sample preparation processes as defined by biologists and analytical chemists into automated processes for the liquid handling platforms to create complete sample preparation applications.\r\n\tFine-tune existing sample preparation applications in collaboration with customers and business partners to meet evolving customer needs\r\n\tCreate intuitive user interfaces for applications that allow scientists and technicians to efficiently prepare their samples\r\n\tDefine, document and execute test cases that validate the performance of sample preparation applications to ensure out of the box operation\r\n\tCollaborate with technical writers to create comprehensive installation and user documentation for sample preparation applications\r\n\tLeading cross-functional teams to launch sample preparation applications\r\n\tSupport the resolution of customer-reported issues\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a first shift position.

The ideal candidate will have:

Requirements:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tB.S. or M.S. degree in biological/chemical sciences or biomedical/chemical engineering\r\n\t8+ years of relevant experience including hands on work programming automated liquid handling systems from Agilent (preferred), Tecan, Hamilton and/or Beckma\r\n\tExperience with biotherapeutic drug discovery/development is strongly desired\r\n\tExperience with LC/MS and related analytical instruments desired.\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a full time contingent opportunity.

Pay Rate: $64.00-$65.00 per hour

\r\n\r\n
