R&D Materials Intern
What We Need: The Materials Research & Development Department of Brady Corporation has an opening for an intern to work with experienced Scientists and Engineers to support New Product Development and Operations projects. What You'll Be Doing: + Lab-scale development and testing of prototype material designs to satisfy defined performance requirements. + Conducting statistical studies, developing and writing test procedures, improving existing test methods, and writing test reports. + In addition, the individual will collect test data, use Microsoft Excel, Minitab or JMP for data analysis and charting, and assist with problem solving and product/process improvement projects. + The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, ability to work independently to complete assigned projects and the desire to learn and contribute to department objectives. #LI-Onsite What You Will Need To Be Successful: + Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Science. + Have attained at least a sophomore status as of May 2024 with a current minimum GPA of 3.0 + This position will require hands on testing and data gathering, analytical thinking and data analysis skills, and the ability to use computer systems to record, analyze and report information. + High school level algebra and chemistry is a must. + Ability to use a scientific calculator and spreadsheets required. + This is a full-time internship for the summer (May –August).
