R&D Principal Project Manager

If you are a Project Management professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson Test & Measurement Unit has an immediate opening for a Principal Project Manager with strong project management and communication skills. Based in Austin, TX, you will be part of team that delivers products to customers in the Test & Measurement space.  You have a track record of leading large-investment/high-impact projects/programs at the division level, with strong risk management skills, and decision-making competencies. You drive project strategy to meet scope, cost, and timeline goals and often lead projects with high-risk exposure, unknowns, and time-to-market constraints. Additionally, you will be helping drive improvements in our process and how we deliver our business objectives to meet our customer needs. We have an outstanding team that favors innovation. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Accountable for project definition, planning and execution to meet scope, cost, and timeline goals while maintaining long-term quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for managing project timelines to meet customer commit dates, measure gaps, develop countermeasures to close gaps and produce/improve output and results. Proactively drive risks from projects by proposing, evaluating, and leading risk mitigation alternatives that seek balance of schedule/features/cost/quality. Develop and be responsible for the Project Plan that includes schedules, achievements, procurement strategy, execution strategy, financial targets, resources, communications, and considerations of risks by coordinating and managing activities from cross-functional teams required to meet project requirements. Ensure efficient and timely collaboration with global R&D teams, and other supporting teams to accomplish the release of the product/system.  Facilitate technical and key project-related decisions with team and collaborators to effectively resolve issues and raise when appropriate  Effectively communicate project progress updates, trade-offs, and risks to collaborators, including partners  Facilitate initiatives to advance the maturity of the organization. Propose and implement innovative new processes for effective and efficient communication, operations, & execution alignment on large projects/program. Share project management standard methodologies, and coach the team and junior project managers to embrace the standard methodologies. Partner with business leaders to recommend an effective approach to solving business challenges using project management and change management capabilities.

For This Role, You Will Need:

BA or BS Degree or equivalent experience 7-10 years of experience in technical project and or program management  Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Project management experience in the Electronics industry Experience working with Hardware and Software Engineering teams Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Logistics knowledge
