Job Title: R&D Product Development Technologist
Job Description

Join our R&D Protein Team as a Product Development Technologist. We are seeking a talented individual with experience in supporting product development, particularly in food consumer packaged goods or protein ingredient food applications. The ideal candidate brings lab support experience in product categories such as Snack Bars, Ready to Eat cereals, Dairy Products, Baked Goods, and Pizza/Pizza Snacks. This full-time position is based on-site at the James Ford Bell Technical Center in Golden Valley, MN, and is expected to last for 1 year. Candidates must reside in or within daily commuting distance of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and have a working laptop for data processing both remotely and in the office.

ResponsibilitiesSupport product and technology development initiatives from bench top to pilot plant scale.Prepare for experiments by gathering and ordering ingredients and equipment.Accurately weigh ingredients.Network with internal experts to learn bench-top procedures, methods, and testing protocols.Execute experiments and product make-up at the bench-top and/or at pilot plant scale.Conduct analytical testing and sensory evaluation of ingredients and food products.Collect and report data, record/document observations, and share key findings with the team.Perform basic data analysis as required.Essential SkillsExperience in product development, food science, chemistry, or engineering.Proficiency in ingredient applications and technologies.Ability to support product development in categories such as Snack Bars, Ready to Eat cereals, Dairy Products, Baked Goods, and Pizza/Pizza Snacks.Bachelor's or Associate's Degree within the food sciences.Additional Skills & Qualifications1-2 years of experience in food creation, food/beverage product development, working as a chef, or related field (from industry or academia).Strong experience in R&D within the industry is preferred.Work Environment

This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5-40 hours per week for a 12-month assignment. The role is on-site at the James Ford Bell Technical Center in Golden Valley, MN. There is an opportunity to apply internally and possibly convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs. All full-time positions come with holiday pay for the 6 major holidays. Candidates must have a working laptop for data processing both remotely and in the office.
