**Job Overview**
The EPS Development Engineering team is looking for a motivated R&D/Product Development Engineer. TE Connectivity’s EPS Development Engineering Team manages a wide variety of products, including solder sleeve devices, heat-shrink tubing, heat-shrink molded parts, adhesives, and MIL-STD-1553 databus. The team provides engineering expertise for sustaining product lines and develops new products for the global marketplace. They work closely on projects across a variety of functional teams, Product Management, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and Finance. Their role is to provide technical engineering support and analysis, and ensure that quality, cost and schedule commitments are upheld.

As a Material Development Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
+ Provide engineering support for EPS products used and sold into the Aerospace and Military markets.
+ Provide support for product and materials obsolescence and product migration.
+ Support specific development activities as part of a larger development project, organizing experiments, trials, testing, and collating data.
+ Provide product Compliance oversight to REACH/ROHS requirements
+ Work closely with Lead Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers and Operations to successfully deliver new development projects into operations.
+ Run product development trials of New Product Development projects while fully integrating with the LEANPD process and PLM Central, ensuring that work is scheduled to meet pre-determined targets.
+ Lead new product Qualification and Qualification retention efforts through thorough understanding of Specification requirements, compiling Qualification Test Plans, overseeing testing, and ensuring proper documentation.
+ Support cost reduction activities by collaborating in brainstorm sessions, developing innovative solutions, and organizing experiments, trials, testing, as well as collating data.
+ Lead continuous improvement activities for product streamlining.
+ Support key data collection for DFMEA, PFMEA, and Qualification data.
+ Write Product Specifications, Quality Test Plans and Test Reports, and update existing product specifications when required.
+ Communicate and resolve technical issues for legacy product with internal and external customers.
**What your background should look like:**
• B.S. or M.S. degree oin Chemistry, Polymer Science or ChemicalScience, Material Science and Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Work experience in the Aerospace and/or Chemical Industry (0-5 years).
• Strong polymer / material science background, with hands on testing, and processing, and formulating / compounding experience.
• Experience in providing detailed documentation and translating it into concise technical reports.
• Ability to understand complex technical problems and work out solutions to them.
• Ability to communicate and listen work in cross-functional teams to accelerate product development and cost-savings projects
• Experience with product development from concept to industrialization preferred (VOC, DOE, FMEA, FEA).
• Be able to read and understand material specifications.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow standard laboratory, manufacturing, and health and safety procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – be able to work as part of a global, multicultural team.
• Will take ownership and accountability for project tasks.
• Knowledge of Mil-Aero and Space products/materials preferred.
• Green Belt in Design for Six Sigma preferred. If not, must be willing to pursue.

**COMPENSATION**
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $114,800 - $172,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
